Frequently Asked Questions
What are the document preparation rules for stationery?
For Photoshop/Illustrator files: minimum 300 DPI resolution, CMYK color mode, 1/8 inch bleed all around, and maximum ink coverage of 300%. All fonts must be converted to outlines (curves) and linked images must be embedded in the file.
How do I get rich black in printing?
For a rich, deep black, we recommend the color recipe: C40 M20 Y20 K100. This combination produces a deeper, more vibrant black compared to using 100% K alone.
What are the specifications for large format printing?
Recommended resolution: 125 DPI in CMYK mode. Ink limits: 300% for standard media, 200% for adhesive vinyl. Contact us for specific recommendations based on your chosen substrate.
Do screen colors match printed colors?
No. Screens display colors in RGB mode while printing uses CMYK, so there will always be slight differences. Color proofs are available for a minimum fee of $30 to validate colors before final production.
What is lamination?
Lamination is the application of a protective plastic film over a printed document. Available in three finishes: matte, glossy, or satin. It protects your prints against wear, scratches, moisture, and UV damage while enhancing the visual appearance.
What is bleed?
Bleed is the area that extends beyond the final trim dimensions of your document. It is cut away after printing to ensure a clean edge with no white borders. Minimum required: 1/8 inch (0.125″) on all sides.
